With abundant sunshine still in the forecast, Downtown Santa Monica is hunkering down for a winter of fun with the return of ICE at Santa Monica. The premier outdoor skating destination marks the turn of the holiday season and gives Los Angeles natives 8,000 square feet of real ice in a rink that embraces a bit of winter without the blistery weather.
The Grand Opening Celebration is this Thursday, November 5, from 6 p.m. to 10 p.m. and it promises to be better than ever. It will be headlined by a glittering performance from some of California’s most elite skaters, choreographed by the one and only World-Champion Figure Skater Randy Gardner. Officers and mentors of the Santa Monica Police Activities League (PAL) will also be in attendance with their youth members to participate in this community bonding experience. Guests, family and friends can engage a cookie decorating station, an interactive wintry-themed photo-booth, and mobile screen-printing activations.
Add in tasty wintery treats from some of Santa Monica’s favorite restaurants and a DJ spinning live from the icy venue, and the streets of Santa Monica will become the perfect backdrop for holiday cheer.
And the best part: free ice skating for one night only!
